Android gets Roboto, but we don’t specify it since it was clobbering DebianĪs for general font sizes, I think our fonts have always been too small.Linux gets “Arial” which is never Arial, but often Liberation Sans, or Noto, but maintains the status quo.Windows continues to get Segoe, but we drop system-ui since it isn’t quite ready for primetime.macOS and iOS continue to get San Francisco.

Update 2 - Alright folks, got some follow-up for you. I’ve seen some folks realize with this switch that they were running some non-stock antialiasing. If something feels off on Windows, do revisit your ClearType settings. Plenty of little bugs to squash yet, and I’m chipping away at them. I hope it’s a bug, and is patched up in 11.4. I was reacting to a change in macOS 11.3 that removes the ability to set antialiasing at the OS-level. Ironically, this seems to be Segoe UI (at least, on my machine). If none of Segoe UI variants or Helvetia Neue it falls back to the default Sans-serif font in your browser. Which is a font that is installed on most Mac's. Looking at the Metro bootstrap CSS it should fall back to "Helvetica Neue". Therefore, machines running Windows XP, or non-windows OSes might not have this font installed. So, Segoe UI and other Segoe variants can be obtained by installing Office 2007 or later, or Windows Vista or later. Segoe UI is the default for interface elements for Windows starting with Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007. No, Segoe UI does not come bundled with Firefox.
